Alexis Grimaud is a CNRS associate researcher, working since 2014 in the Solid-State Chemistry and Energy Laboratory, headed by the Prof. Jean-Marie Tarascon and located at the Collège de France in Paris. There, he pursued his efforts toward the development of better electrolycatalysts for water splitting, focusing on the interplay existing between physical properties and interfacial processes for transition metal oxides. As well, he is developing a comprehensive understanding of the role of solvation properties in electrolytes and their impact on the kinetics at the electrode/electrolyte interface that he applies for the understanding of battery chemistries including Li-ion and aqueous batteries, among others.
