#1- Impedance spectroscopy applied to electrochemical systems

Impedance spectroscopy applied to electrochemical systems

MAY 3 TO 6, 2022 - National Institute of Chemistry - Ljubljana - SLOVIENA

The first DESTINY School was held from May 3 to 6, 2022 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, at the National Institute of Chemistry. A group of 7 DESTINY Fellows participated!

The school focused on teaching students about impedance spectroscopy measurement technique. It included lectures on the basics of the impedance spectra shape and contributions, hands-on laboratory work and tutorials on writing and runing simulations of impedance spectra. After introductury lectures on the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, students learned how to assemble and modify the design of battery cells in order to determine the origin of impedance spectra contributions. Determination of optimal experimental electrochemical settings was discussed and demonstrated. Impedance spectra of such cells was measured and analysed by the students. Advanced impedance spectroscopy measurement protocols were demonstrated and run by students. Students were familiarized with challenges of impedance of solid state battery systems and various modelling approaches to impedance spectra simulations, their advantages and drawbacks.

This school was organized by Sara DRVARIČ TALIAN & Ivana MAVER

The scientists involved in this school were: DRVARIČ TALIAN Sara, GABERSCEK Miran,  VIZINTIN Alen, MOSKON Jože, ZELIC Klemen &  VIALLET Virginie
