#6- Multivalent and metal-sulfur battery technologies

MULTIVALENT AND METAL-SULFUR
BATTERY TECHNOLOGIES

May 2 to 5, 2023 - Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden

8 PhD students participated in the sixth DESTINY Training School, held from May 2nd to the 5th 2023 at Chalmers University of Technology

The school focused on the concepts and mechanisms at play in differently mature metal-sulfur and multivalent batteries such as Li-S, Mg, Ca and Al batteries. The lectures covered the basics of each battery concept, the most relevant electrode and electrolytes materials, and how to both characterize, model and best use them – by a team of world-leading researchers in the area of next generation batteries. The hands-on is an exercise (no laboratory work!) where you learn the « true » limits of each chemistry/technology by creating cells in spreadsheet tools such as e.g. BatPac.
