Supercapacitors and High power batteries: From fundamentals to applications

High power energy storage systems (such as supercapacitors and high power batteries) are increasingly present in our society, whether to recover the potential energy of harbour cranes in order to save fuel, or as power supply for implanted medical devices. Materials and associated technologies are evolving rapidly and this DESTINY Training School aims at giving an updated vision of the different fields of expertise required to understand the scientific and technological barriers and to design innovative systems in line with emerging needs. It combines fundamental approaches on materials and in-situ/operando characterization methods with a more applied vision on the performance and design of the electrodes and devices, including the design and testing of small prototype cells.
