TOPIC 01-15: Protective coatings for metal (Li, Mg) batteries
I obtained my bachelor's degree in Nanotechnology Engineering at the Autonomous University of Queretaro, Mexico. During my thesis project, I started working with electrochemical systems, where I found an extensive and passionate research area with many opportunities in the energy field. After that experience, I decided to apply for a master's in Europe, and I was selected to do the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree MESC+ (Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion). Throughout this period, I acquired high-quality scientific and laboratory skills in different educational systems (Poland, France, and Slovenia) and multicultural environments, which resulted in a personal and professionally enriching experience also due to the chance to do my thesis project in Solvay, Paris.
Being part of DESTINY has been a great opportunity to work with an international team at the NIC, Slovenia, and get to learn from top scientists with expertise in a wide range of topics within the battery field. My secondment in Politecnico di Torino has brought also fruitful contributions, especially in the know-how exchange and development. DESTINY also offers us top-notch workshops, that promote the creation and expansion of scientific networks that set the foundations for future scientific collaborations.
