Olivier Guillon is director at the Institute of Energy and Climate Research (IEK-1), Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany and professor at the RWTH Aachen University. His research interests focus on functional ceramic materials for energy conversion and storage. The development, synthesis and processing of solid electrolytes for lithium and sodium ions and their integration into all-solid-state batteries play a key role in this regard. He coordinates several national / international projects and research programmes, such as the Helmholtz programme “Materials and technologies for the energy transition”. He is member of the World Academy of Ceramics and the International Institute for the Science of Sintering.
